We were tasked with crafting a VR experience that explained Gibson's principle of occlusion.

We concocted a forest landscape. With the rich forest as the backdrop, certain silhouettes look like deer antlers, only for them to revealed as tree branches. Clarity can only be afforded if the traveler is curious enough.

Animating the deer!

I modeled and rigged a deer in Blender for a short animation. Within Unity, the deer would react to the user if they got close enough. I shaded it dark enough to blend into the surroundings, with antlers that could be mistaken as branches if you didn't look for long enough.

This whole process was absolutely wicked! It was my first time animating in Blender, and I absolutely loved it. Gibson's text is rich and dense and I'm grateful we were able to bring it to life in such a manner.

I would like to say thank you to my incredible teammates, it was truly an honor working with such incredible designers. I'm even in awe that we were able to accomplish what we did in such a short amount of time.
